Raised in Taipei, Taiwan, Brian Kao is a landscape photographer whose work is deeply rooted in physical exploration and scientific curiosity. His expertise in Earth sciences leads him to remote, untamed environments with a unique lens attuned to the subtle dynamics of land, weather, and light.

Guided by the philosophy Incertus animus dimidium sapientiae est (“A doubtful mind is half of wisdom”), Brian has spent over a decade documenting quiet, unnoticed corners of the world on foot and by bicycle.

Currently based in Uppsala, Sweden, he believes no good photos come without sweat. Literally.
